Floating bar hire in Harties

We coordinate the drinks, bartenders and required liquor-licence arrangements for an agreed floating-bar setup. Each event is quoted around the location, service plan and applicable approvals.

A modest portable setup

A bar on the pontoon, scoped for your event

This is a portable bar setup configured on our main pontoon (SRGW4546R) for a private event — not a second boat, and not a permanent fitted bar. We don't assume fridges, draught taps, a power system, a cocktail station, glassware or a fixed bar counter. Anything of that kind is discussed and costed in your quote only where suitable and approved.

Capacity is confirmed for the specific layout, crew, bartenders, stock and vessel approval. It does not inherit the leisure boat's 12-guest number, and this is not a 150-guest raft party.

Three ways to run the bar

Bar models to discuss

These are options to talk through — not fixed, fully approved packages. The right model depends on your venue, guest mix and the approvals that apply.

Hosted drinks tab

You set a budget and menu; we run the bar to that tab for your guests. A clear, capped way to host without a till at the table.

Stated per quote

  • Service fee and minimum spend
  • Service duration and staff numbers
  • Stock, ice and cups or glassware
  • Setup, pack-down and transport

Cash bar

Guests purchase drinks directly, only where the event licence and service plan permit. We handle the bar operation; your guests pay as they go.

Stated per quote

  • Service fee and minimum spend
  • Service duration and staff numbers
  • Stock, ice and cups or glassware
  • Setup, pack-down and transport

Bar and staff

You supply the drinks where suitable and approved; we provide the bar setup and staff to serve them. A lean option when you already have the stock.

Stated per quote

  • Staff fee and service duration
  • Staff numbers and setup scope
  • Ice, cups or glassware as needed
  • Setup, pack-down and transport

No free bar, all-you-can-drink package or waived fees. We don't quote per-passenger charter prices, and we don't match any third-party “BarZone” or “NomBango” price. Every figure is whole-event and set in your written quote.

Confirmed before booking

Venue, vessel and access checks

A moving charter that needs a skipper must reserve one appropriately — alcohol service is not clearance to navigate. These checks stay on our side until the quote is confirmed.

Moored or cruising

Whether the bar operates moored at an approved berth or on a moving charter — each requires its own reservation.

Approved venue or berth

The exact approved venue or berth is confirmed for the setup, not assumed from a leisure cruise.

Service hours

Service hours are agreed for the event and the location.

Power

Any power needs for the bar setup are confirmed for the venue and vessel.

Sanitation & waste

Sanitation and waste handling for the event are planned before confirmation.

Access

Estate and jetty access for your guests and the bar crew are arranged before the event.

Please enquire at least eight days before your event

Shorter notice may be possible at an additional charge, subject to availability and the required approvals. Eight days is a business planning minimum for crew, stock and logistics — not a legal processing guarantee.

A premium cannot bypass permissions. Licence, venue and vessel checks remain private to our staff before any booking is confirmed.

Responsible service — proposed business policy

  • No alcohol is served to under-18s or to visibly intoxicated guests. ID may be requested during the event operation — it is never uploaded in our public form.
  • No one is invited to operate a craft after drinking. A moving charter that requires a skipper is reserved and crewed appropriately.
  • This service policy is proposed and must be approved by the owner before it applies to any event.
How the request works

From enquiry to written quote

Step 1

Send your enquiry

Tell us the date, guest number, venue preference and which bar model you'd like to discuss.

Step 2

Licence, venue & vessel checks

We confirm the liquor-licence arrangements, the approved venue or berth, and the vessel approval — privately, on our side.

Step 3

Written quotation

You receive a written quote setting the fees, service plan, capacity and booking terms. Nothing is confirmed until you accept.

No instant payment and no licence badges on this page. Confirmation is always written, after the checks above.
Capacity is confirmed for your specific setup — tell us your group size and preferred model below.

Floating bar

Our floating bar uses the main pontoon with a simple portable bar setup. The moored base service starts at R9,500 Monday–Friday or R10,500 Saturday–Sunday for up to four hours of bar service, with one bartender, basic ice and serviceware, setup and licence coordination.

Drinks or a hosted tab, actual statutory liquor fees, applicable venue or mooring charges, catering, extra staff or upgrades and required extra travel are quoted separately. We provide an itemised event total before you commit.

Capacity, layout, boarding arrangements and setup and pack-down times are agreed for your event. Cruising events and longer service are quoted individually. Please allow at least eight days' notice. Shorter notice is considered case by case; an accepted short-notice event may carry a coordination premium from R1,500. An enquiry does not guarantee approval or a liquor licence.

Arrival & boarding

Your written booking confirmation includes your meeting pin, boarding time and any estate access instructions. Please use those details rather than travelling to a general dam or estate entrance.

Aim to arrive 15 minutes before your agreed departure for boarding and a safety briefing. If you are running late or have not received your access details, call or WhatsApp 079 144 5174 before travelling.

Follow the boarding team's instructions and keep the boarding area clear. Tell us about mobility or access needs before confirming so we can discuss the arrangements for your group. Boarding arrangements depend on the boat and mooring; step-free access is not guaranteed.
