Planning a private boat party in Harties

Plan a private whole-boat party in a practical order: settle the total guests first, choose the main boat or the canals within their limits, request a date and duration, then add extras by quote. Allow at least 24 hours' notice — more for anything complex — and treat the floating bar as a separate, eight-day service rather than an automatic add-on.

A practical sequence

Work through these in order. Each step feeds the next, and the details are confirmed in your written quote.

  1. 1

    Total guests first

Start with how many people. The main pontoon takes up to 12; the electric canal cruise is 2–4 only. We confirm the final number against the approved load in your quote.

  2. 2

Choose the boat within its limits

Open dam and a skipper, or the quiet estate canals — pick the waterway that fits the group and the mood, staying inside each boat's capacity and operating area.

  3. 3

    Request a date and duration

Ask for two, three or four hours on the main boat, or up to two hours on the canals. Each duration is a request subject to availability, not a promised daily sailing.

  4. 4

    Extras by quote, music included

Decor, catering and a photographer are scoped by quotation — not assumed. The onboard sound system is included on the main pontoon, so bring your playlist.

  5. 5

    Weather and boarding

Send a preferred date; we review the forecast and agree a weather fallback and boarding arrangements with you before confirming.

Allow enough notice

Standard cruises need at least 24 hours' advance notice. Give more time for anything complex — larger groups, a specific date, or added services. We check skipper and vessel availability and confirm in writing before the booking is fixed.

The floating bar is a separate service

A floating bar isn't an automatic add-on to every cruise. It's configured on the same main pontoon but scoped as its own enquiry, normally needing eight days (192 hours) of notice, with capacity confirmed for the setup and approvals reviewed. Shorter notice is a manual review, never a licence guarantee.

Confirm these with us

These are owner-confirmed arrangements rather than settled policy. Mention them in your enquiry so we can discuss them before confirming — we won't invent an answer.

  • Children on board and ages
  • Mobility or access needs for boarding
  • Food, catering or a cake table (cake not supplied)
  • Toilet and facility arrangements
  • Drinks and whether BYO applies
  • Parking and estate access on the day
